Enclosed is a tentative list of baseball coaches
participating in the AABC leagues and a proposed TOURNAMENT schedule
of games that takes into consideration the information you were
provided. Please review the schedule, as soon as you can, so any last
minute changes may be made to reflect our 2009 season. This season,
as in the past, to reduce travel expenses we have scheduled two
round-robins to meet our AABC requirements.
Connie Mack baseball will start after the regular
High School Baseball Season is complete. This year New Mexico is
hosting The Don Mattingly World Series July 26 thru July 31. There is
also a world series qualifier in Phoenix the week
of June 23 thru 26. For information please contact us.
League play is scheduled between
teams, and a master list distributed to
each team. For extra games please contact individual teams to schedule
extra games. Coaches traveling should call the opposing coach the
evening prior to travel, to avoid conflicts. At this writing we have
identified two teams in the southern part of the
and will help coordinate a round robin in late June. Other
weekend travel should be scheduled individually by each of the teams.
General
Operational Procedures:
1) When scheduling individual games, you
should contact the teams you plan to play prior to traveling. This
will allow the home teams to make any last minute changes necessary to
fields or times for the convenience of both teams.
2) American League rules will be used as
the standard for all league games. We do not use high school rules.
However, to facilitate kids playing, re-entry of players during the
season is allowed using NM High School Rules. In post season play
there is no re-entry.
3) Farmington in the past has agreed to
inter-league with us, and have Saturday afternoons and Sundays set
aside for games. I have enclosed a current list of coaches for you to
contact to schedule games at either Farmington or your home fields. If
there are any problems, please contact me so they may be worked out to
the benefit of all participating.
4) Remember, the games are for the kids
and every team goes to state, in the 15-18 age groups. Therefore,
everyone needs to work together to create the best league we can for
the kids and ourselves. If we make this fun, we'll attract more teams
and kids into the game. But, more importantly, we'll create an
environment everyone wants to participate in.
5) Your registration fee of $225.00 to
cover insurance premiums and National, State, and Local dues was due
May 15, 2009. Each round-robin fee will be established to cover
umpires and fields. Note, Fees to be paid prior to playing.
Please contact me immediately if you have any
concerns.
